ABOUT MIDDLE SCHOOL PROGRAM (SRAE)
Project AIM is a group-level, positive youth development intervention designed to reduce pregnancy and sexually transmitted disease by promoting the motivation to make safe choices and to address deeper barriers to sexual risk prevention. Youth are motivated to achieve a positive future and avoid a negative future.
Project AIM helps and encourages youth:
-To understand the concept of legacy through the use of role models
-See a picture of themselves in the future as successful adults
-Set goals to achieve their desired future selves
-Identify strengths and resources needed for future success
-Build effective communication skills
-Protect their future through reducing risk behaviors today

PEER EDUCATION GROUPS
After participating in our introductory Teen Health Council , young people are given the opportunity to join our advanced peer education groups that are led by and a Project Facilitator and Senior Assistant (youth staff). In these groups, young people use creative methods to express information about sexual health and community/personal empowerment.
ADVANCED PEER EDUCATION GROUPS
-Social Activism
The activism group goes by different names, but is devoted to youth leadership development and community organizing around reproductive justice issues.
-Theatre
PRY's Theatre performance group relies on the skills and energy of the young people to make exciting, accessible and thoughtful pieces of theatre to communicate about healthy decision-making practices, consent and more.
-MOB (Media, Outreach, Branding)
MOB inspires young teenagers to expand their sexual knowledge as well as their peers’. They do this by using social media, sexual health memes, videos, blogs, photography and designing new technology that gives access to contraceptives and clinic locations. Through online messaging, their goal is to help educate teens and young adults about safe sex, HIV, and STD/STI prevention.
-Ambassadors
Peer educators in this group work are trained to facilitate fun and interactive sexual health education workshops for teens. They also table at community events and participate in various community meetings as youth representatives.

SENIOR ASSISTANTS
Project SAFE participants that are entering their senior year of high school have the opportunity to apply to become a Senior Assistant. Project SAFE Senior Assistants are staff members who help shape, plan and execute programing as well as provide insight into the general direction of the program. Senior Assistants serve as leaders in group and role models for participants.
Senior Assistants are given high levels of responsibility within the program and serve as a co-facilitator for each of our adult facilitators. These youth are integral in the leadership of the group and are involved in the development, facilitation, organization and evaluation of all programming. Senior Assistants attend all staff meetings, contribute towards our multimedia outlets, and serve as extremely important, respected voices in all areas of programming.
